Sharia Law = End of Democracy
An “eye for an eye” so went the Code of Hammurabi and so goes the Penal Code of Sharia Law. A hand for theft, and a stoning for rape, and death for converting out of Isalm.
The argument for such punishment is that it’s hard to steal without a hand or to rape if you are dead. What if you are falsely accused and condemned to die for something you did not do?
How many innocent people will lose their lives or be marked for life? We have come a long way from the days of Hammurabi, alas, Sharia still metes out the cold justice of the desert 1400 years ago.
It would be a sad day for democracy and justice if even a hint of Sharia were ever allowed in a Western Democracy.
