The AIG Bonus “Outrage” is a Hoax – Seeing through the Smoke
It’s a smoke and mirrors exercise. In truth, $160 million dollars for bonuses are neither outrageous nor immoral nor unethical. What the Congress is really hiding is its own horrific incompetence at passing the bill without reading it. That is an outrage, yet no one has held a hearing about that.
The legal costs of abrogating the contracts and of illegally back taxing those who received the bonuses will be far greater than $167 million. However, it is politically convenient to scapegoat Tim Geitner and President Obama.
Remember, this is the same congress that gave itself a $4000 dollar raise this year, why don’t they give the raise back? It’s the same tax money. I don’t think they deserve a raise if they vote for bills without reading them. Any donkey can do that.
The word “Outrage” is beginning to outrage me because it is such an outrageous overuse of an outrageously hyperbolic word. Did I make my point? Stop being outraged Congress and think of a creative solution to the economic problems. President Obama cannot do it alone! Nor can Tim Geitner.
Tim Geitner is not God. President Obama is not God. The fact that he became President is a miracle. How many miracles can you expect from one guy??
President Obama inherited the worst economic disaster in the last 80 years. He inherited two unjust wars. And he is now expected to wave a magic wand and make everything go away? Are you serious?
Anyone who thinks there is someone in the USA who knows what the hell is going on with the American Economy is delusional. No one, NO ONE knows what is going on.
I could care less about the AIG bonuses. I don’t care who said what where and when. Get over it, stop wasting my money talking about it, stop holding hearings and start thinking creatively. It seems Congress is full of incompetents. The media is even worse. Sometimes, I think a free media is not such a good thing.
